“Beyond the Peaks” First Annual Adirondack Student Film Festival

May 10, 2018, time TBD

The Wild Center, Tupper Lake NY

Open to all high school students studying in the Adirondack Park.

Become a sponsor: Support student filmmakers by sponsoring a portion of this event with a cash donation or specific item from our Needs list. Your company name will appear in all promotional materials as well as on our Step and Repeat Wall the night of the festival.

Teachers: Join us for a professional development day with Matt Mervis and Cameron Audia where you’ll learn how to help your students create and submit their films to the festival.

For Teachers

"As a teacher, this festival provides you with a venue to take learning from the classroom into the real world.  Build confidence and creativity in your students as they take an idea and turn it into a finished work of art to share with the Adirondack community. Who knows, we could be on the verge of discovering the next Steven Spielberg!" Wendy Cross, Film teacher, Tupper Lake High School

To support interested teachers, AdkAction will provide:

-A Fall and Spring Professional Development that will prepare teachers to integrate film curricula and activities into their class or club, successfully instruct students in the filmmaking process, effectively use and onboard students to the online platform.

-An online platform to access film curricula paired with resources and to easily submit student films.

-A high energy, student-centered celebration showcasing the best student films in the Adirondacks.

For Students

Are you a student interested in the arts? Well, here’s your chance to create! We, along with AdkAction are happy to announce the first ever Beyond the peaks film festival, and we want YOU to join us! Not only will you be able to present your art, but you will also be able to compete, and win BIG.
