Pre-Festival Events

June 24, 28:  Painting window murals in downtown Keeseville – learn more and volunteer here.

Tuesday, July 18: Plein Air artists begin painting the sights around Keeseville. See what they’ve created at the Plein Air Show and Sale starting Friday! Information for Plein Air artists here.

Wednesday, July 19, 7:00 pm: Architecture of St. John the Baptist Church by Anderson Falls Heritage Society at Keeseville Fire Department, 8 Pleasant Street.

Ongoing: Keeseville Rock Caterpillar: Join in the fun decorating your special rock that will help the Caterpillar stretch around Keeseville. Starts at the 2021 Arts Festival Mural at Adirondack Hardware on Front Street.

Friday, July 21

Morning Puppet Show by Kids Cove at the Library
10:30 & 11:00 at the Keeseville Free Library, Front Street. Puppets created for the show will remain on display throughout the festival.

Plein Air Show & Sale Opening Reception at the Old Stone Mill

See what artists have chosen to paint around Keeseville in the days leading up to the festival! Enjoy wine and cheese while viewing over 100 newly created works of art by 40 talented artists, showing the beautiful landscapes and architecture of Keeseville. Paintings are available for purchase from Friday’s opening reception through Saturday at 4:00. Admission to the reception and a portion artwork sale proceeds benefit AdkAction. $10 at the door. Advance tickets available here.

Live Music in Heritage Falls Park

Arts in the Park 
9:00 am – 2:00 pm at Heritage Falls Park, behind the Keeseville Library
Check out some local artists’ work, with demonstrations from area potters, jewelry makers, Adirondack furniture makers, and more! Enjoy music by Alice’s Fault and food from The Dogfather and Island Vybz.

9:00 am – 2:00 pm: “Welcome to Keeseville” Coloring Book from Adirondack Architectural Heritage Part imagination and part scavenger hunt, children and parents alike can grab a copy from AARCH’s tent at Arts in the Park, then discover Keeseville’s nearby historic landmarks while creating some of their own artwork as part of the festivities.

Vestopia Hoops at Arts in the Park

Join the Vestopia Hoops dance group for a dancing and juggling workshop with scarves and hoops. All ages welcome, please sign up below to reserve your spot:

Anderson Falls Heritage Museum Scavenger Hunt
The Anderson Falls Heritage Society Museum (96 Clinton Street) is sponsoring a Scavenger Hunt for youngsters. They will be giving away a free prize to any child who visits the Museum and finds the three items pictured on Passports, which will be available at the Arts In The Park celebration. The museum is just a two-block walk from the Arts site, so if your family is looking for a short break to stretch your legs and explore in a cooler environment, come see what’s there, for children of all ages!

Oil Painting Workshop with Kari Ganoung Ruiz
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Limited space, $50 advance registration required
Plein air artist Kari Ganoung Ruiz will work with a small class on using perspective and shadow shapes to strengthen a plein air composition.

Plein Air at the Festival

The Plein Air portion of the 2024 Community Arts Festival will take place from July 16-20, with three days of painting, and two days of showing and sales. Registration is currently open
